Why Debunk’Onomy?

Why Debunk’Onomy exists: to make visible the monetary architecture behind the ecological and social crisis.

Why Debunk’Onomy?

Debunk’Onomy was born from a simple conviction: we cannot understand the contemporary ecological, social and political crisis without questioning the monetary architecture that organizes our societies.

For too long, economics has been presented as a neutral, technical, almost natural science: the art of managing scarcity, maximizing growth, balancing budgets and reassuring markets. But behind this apparently rational language lies a deeper reality: our economic system is a historical, political and monetary construction.

It can therefore be deconstructed.

Debunk’Onomy means exactly that: debunking dominant economics, not for the sake of opposition, but to make visible what it hides. Money is not a neutral instrument. Debt is not merely an accounting matter. Growth is not a law of nature. And green finance will not be enough to repair a system that continues to reward the extraction of the living world.

The ecological crisis is therefore not only an energy, industrial or behavioral crisis. It is also a crisis of monetary architecture.

This is the framework in which NEMO IMS — NEgentropic MOney International Monetary System — was born: a proposal to refound the international monetary system around social and ecological robustness.

Debunk’Onomy is the place where this hypothesis is developed, explained, criticized, translated and disseminated.

Its objective is clear: to show why the ecological transition will remain impossible as long as money continues to push our societies toward debt, immediate profitability and the permanent expansion of market flows.

To deconstruct economics is not to stop thinking about reality. It is to reject false evidence in order to open the possibility of another monetary, social and ecological order.

The central thesis

The ecological crisis is not only an energy, industrial or political crisis. It is also a crisis of monetary architecture: a system built on debt, profitability and permanent expansion forces reality to grow beyond the limits of the living world.

NEMO IMS proposes to reverse this logic: to create debt-free international money to finance regenerative activities, then to organize its progressive destruction during transactions according to their social and ecological impact.
